Opening of the 9th Annual Hong Kong International Chamber Music Festival

The 9th Annual Hong Kong International Chamber Music Festival opens on January 17, with “An Evening in Paris” featuring works by Debussy, Fauré, Ravel, Saint-Saëns and Ravel. Cho-Liang Lin serves as the festival's Artistic Director, and will be performing in five concerts throughout the festival. Lin is joined by several esteemed artists, including Orion Weiss, Anna Polonsky, Emmanuel Ceysson, Jerusalem Quartet, Sitkovetsky Trio, Patrick Gallois, Richard O’Neill, Isang Enders, Pierre Génisson, Kyoko Takezawa, Li-Wei Qin, Ori Kam, and more.

Performances continue with “A Lifetime of Beethoven” (January 19), “20th Century Masterworks” (January 20), “Viennese Interlude” (January 22), “Russian Farewell” (January 24).

Cho-Liang Lin Begins 2018 with Concerts in Hong Kong & New York

Cho-Liang Lin begins 2018 with the 9th Annual Hong Kong International Chamber Music Festival, presented by Premiere Performances at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts. Lin serves as the festival's Artistic Director, and will be performing in five concerts from January 17 to January 24.

Later, on February 20, Lin returns to the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center (CMS), performing in “Through the Great War.” This evening features music composed during World War I, including Dohnányi’s Quintet No. 2 in E-flat minor and Elgar’s Quintet in A minor. Lin again performs at CMS as part of the CMS Winter Festival, performing Spohr’s Double Quartet on March 18.
 
In May, Lin joins the Greensboro Symphony Orchestra for two performances (May 10 & 12) featuring music by acclaimed film composers John Williams and Lalo Schifrin. A frequent interpreter of the Schifrin's works, Lin can also be heard in a recording of Schifrin's Letters from Argentina. Dmitry Sitovetsky conducts.

Brandenburg Concertos with the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center

This winter, Cho-Liang Lin joins the annual holiday presentation of Bach's Brandenburg Concertos with the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center. Opening on December 13 in Athens, Georgia, the Brandenburg Concertos then come to Alice Tully Hall on December 15, 17, and 19, with stops in Princeton, NJ (December 18), and Chicago (December 20). 

Lin is joined by a stellar ensemble that includes Kenneth Weiss (harpsichord); Kristin Lee, Daniel Phillips and Danbi Um (violin); Mark Holloway and Yura, Lee (viola); Nicholas Cannellakis and Colin Carr (cello); Joseph Conyers (double bass); Robert Langevin and Carol Wincenc (flute); Randall Ellis, James Austin Smith, and Stephen Taylor (oboe); Peter Kolkay (bassoon); Jennifer Montone and Julie Landsman (horn); and Brandon Ridenour (trumpet).

Cho-Liang Lin opens the 2017-18 season with Gala performance

On the heels of another triumphant season of La Jolla Music Society's SummerFest, Cho-Liang Lin begins the 2017-18 season in Hong Kong. Playing in the 10th anniversary gala concert of Premiere Performances of Hong Kong, Lin shares the stage with violinist Ning Feng, violist Maxim Rysanov, cellist Li-Wei Qin, double bassist Da Xung Zhang, and pianists Sa Chen, Alessio Bax, and Lucille Chung. Following the gala event, Lin travels to Beijing for a performance of Brahms and Mendelssohn, and gives a masterclass at the Central Conservatory of Music. Reuniting with regular performance partner Jon Kimura Parker, Lin gives an all-Beethoven recital with the Dallas Chamber Music series. Later in December, Lin joins colleagues of the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center for a series of recitals in Georgia and Alice Tully Hall in New York.

SummerFest 2017 at La Jolla Music Society

SummerFest 2017 at La Jolla Music Society

The annual summer festival in idyllic La Jolla opens on August 2 with the traditional open-air concert. 

Opening night on August 4 brings Music Director Cho-Liang Lin for a program of "Fiddles vs. Pianos" with violinists Chee-Yun, David Chan, Ray Ushikubo; pianists Scott Cuellar, Christina Naughton, Michelle Naughton, Olga Kern; and bassist DaXun Zhang. 

Featured artists of La Jolla Music Society's SummerFest include Olli Mustonen, Glenn Dicterow, Robert deMaine, Toby Hoffman, John Largess, Wu Man, Edward Arron, the Miró Quartet, the Ulysses Quartet, the Kalichstein-Laredo-Robinson Trio, and more.
